Rahul Joseph
Program Manager

Rahul Joseph leads key strategic programs at Surgo, working with our partners to translate insights into action and to develop tools for the global development sector. He is passionate about the use of data, behavioral science and technology in designing effective programs for social change. He believes strongly in a customer-focused approach to development, working closely with, and learning from, frontline workers across the sector.

Prior to Surgo, he worked as a manager for the Antara Foundation, a public health startup in India. He led the design and implementation of a unique mobile health solution, which linked three cadres of frontline workers in real-time, the first of its kind in the country. Prior to Antara, he was part of the founding team in India for Bridge International Academies, setting up operations for a chain of low-cost, tech-enabled private schools. He has also run his own educational technology venture, helping high school teachers use assessment data to improve instruction. In a previous life, he worked in supply chain consulting in India, Singapore and Germany. He holds a BA in Mathematics from St. Stephen’s college, New Delhi and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow
